Toyota Tundra MPG

The Toyota Tundra can be paired with one of three available powertrains and achieve varying levels of power. However, more horsepower usually means lower fuel efficiency as all that strength is directed at effectively towing cargo and surpassing road challenges.

Let’s take a closer look at each engine and its corresponding MPG:

Engine

Horsepower

EPA-Estimated Fuel Efficiency*

Standard i-FORCE 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6

348 HP

18 city/24 highway MPG*

Available i-FORCE 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6

389 HP

17 city/22 highway MPG*

Available i-FORCE MAX 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid

437 HP

19 city/21 highway MPG*

Clearly, the Tundra doesn’t play around with power. It starts its lineup at 348 horsepower and offers up to 437 horsepower. Plus, to conserve fuel, the strongest engine is a hybrid option which offers superior city mileage to the other two powertrains.

Moreover, the Tundra comes with a large fuel tank. The base trim comes with a 22.5-gallon tank, allowing you to drive up to an EPA-estimated 540 miles on the highway.* The fuel tanks equipped alongside the other two engines can hold up to 32.2 gallons of fuel, leaving you with up to an EPA-estimated 708 miles of highway to conquer.*

More Than Mileage

Toyota Tundra MPG This truck successfully directs all the power it has to effortlessly push you through different terrain and haul your gear. In fact, when properly equipped, it can tow up to 12,000 pounds. That’s enough to haul a large boat and a couple of jet skis.

If you’re planning to carry anything in the cargo bed, you’ll be able to load up to 1,940 pounds when properly equipped. This will be more than enough to accommodate everyone’s belongings and then some.

Off-Roading

A range of features are available to add capability to your already tough and powerful truck. As standard, the Tundra is equipped with Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) with Automatic Limited-Slip Differential (Auto LSD) for accurate handling.

This can be paired with options like load-leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension, or TRD off-road suspension with Bilstein® shocks for a smoother drive over bumps.

A 4WDemand part-time 4-Wheel Drive with electronically controlled 2-speed transfer case and Automatic Limited-Slip Differential (Auto LSD) is available on higher trims for greater traction and stability on unpredictable terrain.

Add the available Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) with Crawl Control (CRAWL) and Downhill Assist Control (DAC), and nothing will be able to stop you.
